The sale of illegal tobacco and illegal vapes is a big problem in Wales. ASH Wales in tandem with Trading Standards Wales and Public Health Wales were to manage an on-going campaign to help stamp it out. The Website was to act as the hub of the campaign where members of the public can safely report the sale of illegal tobacco and vapes in their community.
As well as a building a smart form for the reporting of illegal tobacco, we also built a custom feed from the Google Maps API where ASH Wales can add and manage conviction statistics based on Welsh counties.
Following several planned advertisement campaigns on television, radio and social media, members of the public continue to come forward to report illegal activity. The overall campaign continues to be an active success and was recently featured via BBC News.
